Sr. Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator

In the first year, the Sr. Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator’s primary responsibility will be designing, testing and implementing a new LMS system! This is a great opportunity to be on the ground floor of a growing L&D team that is building the learning function within an excited and collaborative organization.

Some of the core responsibilities you will have as the Sr. LMS Administrator: 

  • Manage the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) by collaborating with a team of professionals.
  • Create LMS objects including but not limited to; Curriculums, Learning Assignments, Online Training, Deep links, Dynamic and Static Groups, Certifications and Tests/Assessments.
  • Assists with the management and maintenance of applications and third-party content integrated with the LMS (e.g., API, research, evaluation, testing, upgrading and back-end modification)
  • Develop relationships with LMS vendors to escalate feature requests, issue resolution, bug reports, and miscellaneous feedback. Track progress of escalation to completion.
  • As an LMS subject matter expert, monitor reoccurring issues, system/data or process gaps and provide proactive consulting to internal clients to influence best practices in project and training delivery.
  • Manages and provides comprehensive testing of LMS vendor upgrades, product roadmap/functionality and unanticipated software/hardware challenges.
  • Provide functional and technical support to prevent/resolve online learning content issues.
  • Utilize learning and HRIS data to provide analysis and reporting to internal and external stakeholders on learner performance, training effectiveness, and return on investment.

  • Prepare and deliver ad-hoc reporting from the LMS based on request.
  • Develop and maintain standardized documentation on LMS operational processes and procedures and ensures LMS governance model is being followed by all LMS admins.

  • Provides help resources and training for students and staff including instructional videos, how-to guides, and FAQs related to the usage of the LMS, instructional technology, and documents relevant data about each external learning tool in a central repository.

Must Haves to be successful in this role: 

  • Experience in the administration of a learning management system
  • Knowledge and experience in learning analytics
  • Experience building and launching a learning platform preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically but equally able to develop and execute tactics
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-identification and problem-solving skills
  • Extremely collaborative

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience administering and maintaining a learning management system, talent management system, customer relationship management system or comparable experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree in IT, Learning & Development, or Business, or any other related field is required.
  • Or an equivalent of the same in working experience is also acceptable.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Experience working in a Windows environment.
  • Expertise in implementing and managing Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Minimal travel, up to 10% of the time, to visit company locations, meet with key stake holders, conduct training programs, and collaborate with vendor partners.
